If you are a poor walker or are in a wheelchair, and have a desire to come with your family around the Rømø trails, a walk in the forest or a walk along the water's edge on the beach, then it is possible now.

At our tourist office Juvrevej 6, Rømø it is possible to rent an all-terrain electric wheelchair. The chair stands in a trailer (750 kg. M. brakes), which are just enough to buckle after the car if the trip first has to start on the beach, or you can start the trip directly from here. There are detailed instructions both for unloading the chair from the trailer, as well as the use of the chair itself. Everything is done with electricity so that it can be managed by one person. The seat height is slightly higher than that of an ordinary wheelchair, so it requires little movement to move, or otherwise be able to move yourself.

Max. speed is 6 km/h which corresponds to walking speed.

One charge reaches about 4 hours/24 km.

The chair can be rented for 1 day, 5 weekdays, 1 week or a weekend (start Saturday at 10.00/end Sunday at 20.00)

What's included

  • One charge is enough for approx. 4 hours/24 km.
  • Contact the Rømø Tourist Office no later than the day before to arrange a pick-up time.
  • The maximum speed is 6 km/h, which is equivalent to walking speed.
  • Can ride on the beach and in the dunes

Practical information

  • The trailer/wheelchair can be picked up after 10:00. If you want a second time, contact the tourist office at least 2 days in advance and arrange this.
  • Trailer and chair must be delivered in the same condition as when they were received. There is a small broom inside the trailer which can be used to sweep sand away etc.
  • Remember to unplug it when you pick it up and when you return it.
  • The trailer and chair have built-in GPS, so we can always track where it is.
  • Insurance is included in the price.
  • DKK 1,000 deductible and 100% if the chair is thrown into water.
  • All you need is tow hitch on the car if you want to take it to another destination. If you don't have a trailer, you can ride the electric wheelchair from Juvrevej 6.
